Kay Krapf, The Gatekeeper of the project.
San met Kay Krapf the day the block #1 arrived in Fort Myers, Florida on March 1, 2011, after it was brought there to be in the warm sun to sculpt. Kay Krapfs late husband John, was supposed to be the one to find an artist to create these works of art but before John got that chance, he passed away. Others working with John found San instead, on the internet and
asked her to work on this project. Once Kay and San met in Florida, they formed a friendship bond that is everlasting. San calls Kay the Gatekeeper of the concrete and San herself the Key master. Whenever San needs new blocks sent down to Florida, Kay is always there to coordinate the trucks and get them placed on their way down to Sans studio. San is honored to have Kay work
with her. She says she cannot do it without her and it is great to know that she gets the chance to see her husband’s dream come true.
